What Our Clients Say
"Stacey is hands down, one of the rare finds I found to help the discerning of discernment 30 years ago and she is just getting better now. Wow. She is not a trend...
she is a movement for natural living with impeccable style."
- S. Patel
"It takes a pro to create what you created in a home of that magnitude architecturally; very impressive.
Your clients recognize your great eye, vision and talent. As my dad shared with me starting out in my career at 21 "An amateur makes an easy thing look hard, a pro makes a hard thing look easy". You made hard things not only look easy but seamless taking it to a new level of professional design. Beautiful work."
- Richard Habib - Alexanders Rugs, Mill Valley, CA
"Stacey is hands down the best for so many reasons. When I met her in the 90's I was working to decorate guest houses for a very famous person who wanted his guests to feel comfortable while visiting. Stacey helped me get guest houses, rooms whatever together with a coordinated compass while I was doing my job.
She was conscious about cost, quality and her word was gold.
"Stacey, Charlene and I still greatly enjoy the rooms that you created for us. I'm still not sure how you do it without seeing the rooms.
We remain in this house largely due to the beautiful interior environment that you created."
- Dr. David Ploss - Cardiologist, Ukiah
"Stacey has an uncanny intuitive ability to zone in on the client's personality.
She brought her design and color sensibility to the project after one consultation, which is something I never encountered before - I have worked with designers for over 30 years!
Such a unique talent! She pays attention to client's needs to keep important pieces and to add a fresh perspective based on today's market. It is a pleasure working with her."
- Jean Zinngrabe - San Francisco
"What impressed me about Stacey Lapuk was her ability to quickly understand what I wanted.
Everything she presented was right on target.
She also inspired me to go in new directions without ever being overbearing. But above all, Stacey is down-to-earth and a delight to work with even though she is accustomed to working at the top of her industry and I appreciate that."
- Gina Pell, CEO - SPLENDORA, San Francisco
"Stacey is the best kept secret in Marin!
As a fellow woman entrepreneur, I have watched Stacey approach her work with an artist's eye for detail, taking each project on as a blank canvas while still keeping the client's vision and budget top priority.
She makes her clients happy and satisfied."
- Diana Kimbrell, President - Kimbrell & Company, San Francisco
"Stacey really listens to her clients' needs.
She is very sensible about budgets and has an unerring color sense.Stacey is also very detail oriented."

"I've worked for and with many interior designers over the years, and Stacey has always been one of my favorites - hands down.
She has a creative vision and style that is fun, fresh, and classy, while maintaining a no-nonsense, down-to-earth, attitude which is truly a breath of fresh air.
Her level of dedication and personalization for her clients is unsurpassed, and I would recommend Stacey to anyone looking for a designer, without hesitation!"
- Todd Bender, Sales Representative - William Switzer Showroom, San Francisco
"Stacey takes the time to understand her clients' desires, and develops a "big picture" idea.
Without ever losing sight of that big picture, she uses her inherently brilliant sense of design to create spaces that are warm, friendly, functional, rich in detail, and celebrate creativity.
From the big picture to the smallest detail, everything works together and flows seamlessly. She is a master at pulling the outside in, and at expanding the interior into the wider world with textures and colors that respond and relate to the environment."
- Warren Simmonds, Owner - Simmonds & Associates, Inc., San Anselmo
"I am so grateful to have worked with you in my three VERY DIFFERENT homes!
- A San Francisco Victorian family home, which was a massive remodel, "down to the studs and back," and involved intricate coordination with other build/design professionals
- A Northern California Beach house, not really on the beach but on a lagoon, and frankly an 80's ranch house, which you helped me bring to life as a "beachy, calm and beautiful oasis"
- A New York City modern Penthouse apartment, where we are creating a chic but comfortable, sophisticated yet Euro-boutique hotel vibe."
In each home, I (and my family and friends) walk in and immediately state: Oh, what a beautiful home. Oh, you have such a talent, Susan. Oh, this place is a special Oasis. I always accept the compliments humbly but also always say, "I had really talented help, Stacey Lapuk!"
"The paint colors chosen are always perfect and subtle, the furniture is a blend of simple/cost-effective and some special/custom pieces.
The fabrics and rugs are a fun blend, always realistic for a busy family home but always beautiful and just right.
The lighting fixtures are unique and yet not ostentatious. In a word, each time I walk in to each of our three homes I feel "Ahhhh....so glad to be back!" I am happy to spend time in each place comfortably alone, hanging out with family, or hosting friends. I am not a "formal" entertainer and each home feels welcoming in just the right way."
Many Thanks Stacey!"
- Susan Byrd - San Francisco, Stinson Beach, and NYC

We are very pleased with Stacey and continue to work with her."
- Syd & Dick Bass - Bolinas, CA
"She was interested in how I wanted to live- what my tastes and needs were.
She has the quality of furnishings, the convenience, fees and accessibility I wanted.
I found Stacey to be an excellent listener, interpreting my likes and dislikes into a wonderful final effect. Stacey's fees are fair for the work received. She communicated with me every step of the the way, so I felt very much a part of the whole process."
- Ms. S. Updike - Larkspur, CA
"Stacey has the genius of listening to the client express preferences in terms of color, style and feel for a home, processing that information and transforming the ordinary into one's dream home.
I bought an ordinary house and thanks to Stacey, live in a showcase home! Stacey is a design savant. She's a quick study and can really get the gist of your style in a very short time. Everything she showed me (and what I ended up buying) I loved. It was in the style that I was looking for only more than I imagined.
Stacey was also a pleasure to work with and helped guide me to make the right choices rather than force her designs on me (as can tend to be the case with other design professionals). I never felt pressured or pushed beyond my limits and was so pleased with the outcome."
- Francoise Lepage, Dean of School of Business and International Studies - Dominican College, San Rafael

she has high energy and integrity and identifies with her clients."

"Thank you so much for accepting Syndi's invitation to speak to members of the Economic Round Table about your fascinating approach to interior design. I hadn't heard of Biophilic design and was intrigued by its exquisite sensitivity to nature, both outside our bodies and inside.
You described the elements that bring peace and perspective in ones surroundings—things I had really never thought about. Not that we all don't instinctually chose things that please us, but to have someone who can identify the deeper impulses and weave these preferences out into tangible plan is of immeasurable importance.
You showed how deeper feelings of safety and inspiration can be supported by selecting the right location, view, light, furnishings, fabric-the myriad of small decisions that make up an affirming environment. The breadth of your knowledge comes from long study and experience. You have learned to weave these small decisions together consciously into an integrated interior. What a gift to your clients."
